The agreement shall be deemed concluded as soon as the accommodation is ordered and confirmed, or, where a confirmation is not possible due to time constraints, when it is made available. In the case of multiple clients making a booking, all parties involved will be held jointly and severally liable for all contractual obligations in this agreement.
2. Arrival and departure
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the occupation time of the accommodation is between the hours of 14:00 and 18:00 on the day of arrival. We ask that late arrivals are brought to our attention telephonically by no later than 18:00
Check out time is 10:00 on the day of departure. Should guests require a later check out time, we kindly ask that we be informed.
Guests checking out by 18:00 will be charged 50% of the room rate and after 18:00 the full room rate will apply.
3. Services and rates
The contractual services are provided in the reservation confirmation. Upon receipt of the booking confirmation the rate is deemed agreed and is inclusive of breakfast. The price is incl. VAT and excl. 1% Satour National Tourism Levy taken from accommodation costs (local tourism surcharge of the municipality). An increase in VAT after conclusion of the agreement shall be borne by the customer. The currency indicated is valid for all rates.
The management of the lodge may provide the guest with an adequate substitute accommodation if this can be reasonably imposed upon the guest, in particular where the difference is marginal and objectively justified. A factual justification is given, for example, if the accommodation (the rooms) have become unusable, or other important operating measures have necessitated such a step.
We would explicitly like to point out that all our rooms are non-smoking rooms.
For bookings without the provision of credit card details, payment is required in advance. Should payment not reflect in the Lodge’s account within 7 days after sending of invoice with bank data by mail, the Lodge reserves the right to withdraw from the agreement. This withdrawal will be communicated immediately. If payment is received within the allowed timeframe, the reservation is deemed officially booked. A booking confirmation will then be sent out by mail.
Credit card payments will be debited with the full invoice amount 6 days prior to arrival from the credit card provided.
Cash payments upon departure are only possible in exceptional circumstances. Payments can under no circumstances be put on account. The management of the lodge is not obliged to accept cashless payment such as cheques or vouchers.
All credit card details are used exclusively for the settlement of accommodation costs and are deleted immediately after departure by management.
The following cancellation fees apply as percentages of the total costs. Fees are calculated according to date of cancellation prior to arrival.
30-21 days – 25%
20-14 days – 50%
13-7 days – 75%
Under 7 days – 100%
Irrespective of the cancellation costs, a once-off administration fee of 250 ZAR will be charged.
In all cases, the lodge will make every reasonable effort to use the unoccupied rooms. If further occupation is possible for the period booked by the guest, the cancellation costs for the guest are not applicable with the exception of the administration fee. If the credit card has already been debited, the amount will be refunded.
Children from 10 years of age who are accompanied by parents or responsible adults are allowed to stay at the lodge. Parents or responsible guardians are fully responsible for the children and are responsible for supervising them throughout the lodge premises.
The contracting party of the lodge, whether the guest as such or as host will be liable to the owner in full for damage caused by themselves or their guests (children). Any utilisation of unoccupied rooms not stipulated in the contract entitles the lodge to terminate the contract without notice. This does not retract the entitlement to the agreed remuneration.
The lodge reserves the right to withdraw from the contract, without the possibility of damage claims, if the delivery of services has become impossible due to force majeure. The lodge is not liable for any lost property.
Liability is only accepted for valuables if these are deposited against a receipt by lodge management.
The lodge is liable for the correctness of all service descriptions provided in brochures as well as for the proper provision of contractually agreed services. The lodge is not liable for services of hotels / lodgings recommended or arranged by it.
8. Closing provisions
In commercial trade the place of fulfilment and jurisdiction is the location of the lodge. Verbal agreements will only be effective if the lodge has confirmed these in writing. Should individual provisions of these general terms and conditions be invalid, it will not affect the validity of the other provisions.
